RC Plane Clubs 

Before you join an RC plane club, you should first become a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, commonly known as the AMA. Most RC plane clubs will suggest that you become a member of the AMA, and many RC plane clubs will actually require it. There is a yearly membership fee, but it is definitely worth it for the benefits you get for becoming a member. When you do an initial search for RC plane clubs in your area, you should try to contact the ones that you are most interested in joining and ask some questions about how the clubs are run and what they offer their members. With all of the RC plane clubs available, there should be no problem finding one that suits your needs.

When you belong to an RC plane club, you will usually get access to some of the best areas for flying your remote control model plane. Many charter RC plane clubs even own their own fields, which makes it easier for RC model airplane owners to fly their planes without complaint or interference from surrounding communities. Belonging to an RC plane club also means that you can enter into racing or RC model plane building competitions and be sponsored by the club that you belong to. With many RC plane club memberships you also receive initial flying instructions as well as updates on any new advancements in flying technique. On the lighter side, belonging to an RC flying club means that you will be invited to such events as “fun flying days”, club picnics or barbecues, and occasionally even club dances! When you have a hobby that you are very interested in, belonging to a club that focuses on that hobby means getting the right kind of support, and it means enjoying camaraderie with those who have as much passion for the hobby as you do. Once you become a member of an RC plane club, you can also have the satisfaction of helping others learn to love and enjoy this exciting and fascinating hobby.
